Is Go Hiking Dating free to join?
Yes. Creating an account and building a full profile is free, and no card is needed to create your profile. Free members can browse profiles, get daily match suggestions, post updates and photos, comment and take part in polls.
Who is the site for?
UK adults who love hiking, walking and the outdoors and would like to meet someone who feels the same, for a relationship or just for good company on the trail.
Do I need hiking experience to join?
No. Some members love long mountain days and some prefer a flat riverside walk. Say what you enjoy on your profile and look for people who match. Our hiking glossary explains the jargon.
Which areas of the UK does it cover?
The whole UK. Members enjoy places like the Lake District, Peak District, Yorkshire Dales, Snowdonia, the Scottish Highlands and the Mournes. See our area guides to find people near you.
How do I sign up?
Answer a few quick questions on our homepage: who you are, who you'd like to meet, your date of birth, your area and your interests. Then add your first name and email, and set your password on the next screen.
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes. The site works in any mobile browser and can be added to your home screen, so it's handy on the trail and back at the car park.
Membership and pricing
Do I need to pay to message people?
To message freely you'll need a VIP or VIP Plus membership. Free members can read and reply to messages from VIP and VIP Plus members. Compare every feature.
How much does VIP cost?
VIP starts at £14.99 for a week or £24.95 for a month, and works out at £9.99 a month on the 12-month plan (£119.88). VIP Plus is £15.99 for a week or £34.24 for a month. See all prices.
Does my membership renew automatically?
Weekly, monthly, 3-month and 6-month memberships renew automatically. The 12-month membership is a single payment. The details are shown at checkout before you pay.
Safety and privacy
Are profiles verified?
Every member can verify their ID for free and get a badge on their profile. There's also video verification, and a manual admin validation for anyone who'd rather not share documents. Read our safety tips.
Will people see where I live?
No. Your profile shows only your nearest town or city, never your exact address or live location. Your real name and email are never shown publicly either.
What if someone makes me uncomfortable?
Block them instantly so they can no longer contact or see you, and report them from within the site. Our human support team is available 24/7.
How do I stay safe on a first walk?
Meet somewhere public on a popular route, keep it short and in daylight, tell a friend where you're going and when you'll be back, and check the weather first. Our safety page has the full list.

You get daily match suggestions based on things like age and gender preferences, distance, how active members are, the kind of relationship you want, lifestyle habits, your interests and your beliefs.
